2016 has been a year of many accomplishments for AltaSea. We unveiled the award-winning designs of our 35-acre “campus of innovation.” We began renovation of the first 80,000 square feet of warehouse and wharf space for our founding Sustainable Aquaculture and Blue Tech Clusters. We formed new partnerships with local innovators that will have a global impact. In collaboration with Ocean Exploration Trust (OET), we launched our Community STEM Education Program to bring ocean education to Los Angeles Unified School District students. And we welcomed OET’s famed Exploration Vessel Nautilus to its winter home at AltaSea with a community-wide celebration and flotilla.
These achievements represent a broad range of activities, but what they all have in common is YOU. Thanks to the support of our community members and champions across the country – people like you – AltaSea is stronger today than ever before.
There is urgent and important work to be done in the year ahead. From climate change to clean energy to sustainable food sources, your support will help us make ocean-related solutions possible and accelerate AltaSea’s impact.
Our vision is an ocean that will sustain future generations. Together, we can make this a reality.
