Join us at 10:00 AM Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, for an exciting Open House event at AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles.

Arevon is one of America’s leading independent power producers committed to supplying solar energy and energy storage solutions that is not only good for the planet but also affordable, safe, and socially responsible.

Featured Speaker:

Trish Evans, Senior Director, Head of Community Relations. Trish leads the team in community and stakeholder engagement planning, coordination, and activation in several projects across Arevon’s portfolio. Prior to Arevon, she served for 6 years as the very first Senior Community Affairs Partner for Enel North America. Trish managed a region that had received more than $5 billion in combined investments from the company. She managed over 20 operational sites with some under construction totaling over 4 Gigawatts of capacity. At Arevon, Trish believes that collaborating with communities where Arevon operates is the most important thing we can do. Her motto is, “We don’t want to just be a company that builds projects, we want to be a good neighbor, and we want to be part of your community.”

Science Meets Art: Third Grade Explores Sharks

Step into a world of creativity and learning, where over 30 shark models have been meticulously designed and built by local third-grade students. These vibrant, multi-colored models are the result of an innovative Chadwick Schoool Ocean Institute Ocean STEAM initiative that blends art, math, engineering, and science to explore the fascinating world of sharks.

Through this hands-on initiative, students studied shark conservation, physiology, and ecology, using their knowledge to craft accurate and imaginative representations of these vital ocean predators. Each model reflects the students’ unique perspectives and skills, showcasing the intersection of creativity and scientific understanding.

This exhibit celebrates the ingenuity of young minds and highlights the importance of shark conservation in maintaining healthy oceans. Join us in honoring the passion and hard work of these local third graders as they share their inspiring vision for shark conservation and ocean stewardship.

Berth 60 Stairs to the Future Dedication Ceremony

Join us as we celebrate loyal donors who invested in AltaSea’s future by purchasing naming rights to the stairs leading into the Center of Innovation at Berth 60. This tribute will proceed the keynote speaker.

AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles is a leader in the blue economy that strives towards sustainable and responsible use of ocean resources to promote economic growth, improve livelihoods, and ensure the health of ocean ecosystems to address environmental and social challenges within our communities.

Delve into science, technology, engineering, business, and the ocean

This is a great opportunity for students of all ages to learn about ocean-based careers that turn to the ocean to develop solutions for some of the planet’s most pressing challenges, such as climate change, energy supply, and global food security.

Our local ocean-focused and community-based organizations will be available for guests to speak with. Check back — we will announce this month’s on-site exhibiting partners soon!
