Not long after attending USC\, Rusty made the attempt to build a solar powered surfboard to autonomously travel from LA to Hawaii but could not find affordable thrusters. From there Rusty built his own company to provide affordable parts for smaller-scale remotely operated vehicles for ocean exploration.
